Inaugural Spanish Megiddo Tournament Set for May 18th

In the first European tournament of its kind, Megiddo players are coming together for the thrill of competition in Bilbao, Spain. While American tournaments have been held previously here in the States, this is the first time an organized tournament has been held across the pond. Even so, the response has been overwhelming with registrants coming from countries like Romania, France, even Catalonia. Much credit goes to Egoitz Gonzalez, a native of Bilbao and Megiddo aficionado, who was instrumental in organizing the tournament.

The fun doesn't stop there, however. This event will be the first of many national competitions, all leading up to the European Megiddo World Players Federation Championship (date TBA). From there, it is expected that the European champion will be invited to compete against his American counterpart in the next Megiddo World Championship. Previous championships have been held in Spokane, WA, but speculation suggests that they event may move to the lavish Las Vegas, NV, where many other pro/am gaming tournaments are held.

Things are heating up all over the world for Megiddo; if you haven't yet secured your membership in the Megiddo World Players Federation, you may apply for your membership card here.
